Sounds from the Ground: Go Compose with Stewart Baxter

In the aptly titled ‘Sounds from the Ground’, composer and sound artist Stewart Baxter documents his time working with a group of young people to make music from sounds found in Hull’s Rooted Community Gardens.

Young composers Alexander and James tell Stewart about their experience of using contact mikes and the Koala App to create music from sounds found in the gardens.

This project was made possible as part of Sound and Music’s Go Compose programme. Our national network of events empower young people to make their own music with the support of professional composers and musicians.
